Smoke Detected at the Pagosa Springs Medical Center
At approximately 8:20 pm Monday, October 5, 2015, smoke was detected in the Post-Anesthesia Care Unit of the Pagosa Springs Medical Center. The Pagosa Springs Medical Center EMS and the Pagosa Springs Fire Department responded immediately. Patients and staff were unharmed. The cause of the smoke is undetermined.
The Town of Pagosa Springs Fire Marshall cleared our building for occupancy. The cause of the smoke was determined to be a malfunctioning exterior light fixture. Our new facilities manager, Scott Frost, has disabled the fixture and ordered a new one.
