*Senior Level Oncology Nurse Navigator (ONN)

Accepting applications for Senior Level Oncology Nurse Navigator (ONN) as an integral part of the oncology team in Pagosa Springs, our beautiful mountain town in Southwestern, Colorado. The candidate must be experienced in providing high quality cancer care as well as having leadership and operational skills. The Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders at Pagosa Springs Medical Center opened its doors in February 2018, with an overwhelmingly positive community response. In August 2018, we added a third experienced oncology-hematology provider. Our team is seeking a highly motivated individual who is capable of taking the lead on assessing patient needs, identifying barriers, coordinating referrals, providing education, and assisting with survivorship care plans for all Oncology/Hematology patients. Applicant must possess specialized clinical skills in the oncology nurse navigation role and be well organized. Applicant will work closely with our three providers and cancer center staff to coordinate patient care and will cross train in Infusion for consistency during absences. BLS, PALS and ACLS required.

 

*Discharge Clerk

The Discharge Clerk performs a variety of tasks related to patient discharge processes: check patients out after appointments, schedule follow-up appointments for patients exiting the clinic in computer system, register walk-in patients, assist patients with records requests or release forms, collect and post co-payments and patient account payments to appropriate accounts.

 

*Housekeeper

The Housekeeper will maintain and implement a clean, safe and positive patient care work environment.  Must be willing to work nights and weekends.   

 

* Patient Financial Services Supervisor

The Supervisor directs the activities and monitoring for billing and collections of outstanding third party payer both governmental and non-governmental. The Supervisor will work with the Director to set and achieve department goals. The Supervisor is responsible for the coordinating, facilitating and scheduling work assignments to meet billing and follow up goals. The Supervisor will ensure the Billing and Follow up Patient Account Representatives provide professional, appropriate and compliant billing and collections efforts with all insurance providers. The Supervisor will provide coaching, resolve outstanding issues and serve as a link between Director and staff. The Supervisor works closely with the Registration and Pre-Service Manager and Supervisor to ensure accuracy of registration, pre-authorization, and insurance verification for accurate and timely claims processing. The Supervisor serves as liaison with vendors for billing and follow up and the main contact for any open issues. The Supervisor monitors and maintains appropriate productivity and quality levels for staff. The Supervisor will work closely with the members of the Revenue Cycle team to ensure operation efficiency and communications. Flexibility is a must to ensure cash and aging goals are met.

 

* ED RN

The RN provides/administers nursing care to patients in a safe, efficient, and courteous manner; follows proper nursing procedures in accordance with hospital policies and procedures; demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possesses the ability to assess data reflective of the patient’s status and interpret the information needed to identify each patient’s requirements relative to his/her age-specific needs. Applicant must have Colorado RN license.  Pediatric experience preferred.  Sign on bonus / moving expenses included.

 

* ED Tech

Assists in the administration of care to emergency room patients in a safe, efficient, and courteous manner.

  1. Assists in the administration of care to patients in a safe, efficient, and courteous manner
  2. Follows proper procedures in accordance with hospital policies and procedures
  3. Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served
  4. Possesses the ability to assess/collect data reflective of the patient’s status needed to identify each patient’s requirements relative to his/her age-specific needs
  5. Prioritizes and assists in the delivery of direct patient care
  6. Demonstrates ability to perform head-to-toe assessment on all patients within the scope of their practice and reassesses as needed. This includes pediatric, geriatric and the general patient population.
  7. Ability to adequately assess and reassess pain. Utilizes appropriate pain management techniques.
  8. Performs all aspects of patient care in an environment that optimizes patient safety and reduces the likelihood of medical/health care errors.
  9. Ability to perform waived testing (point-of-care testing) per Clinical Laboratory’s and the patient care unit’s policies and procedures.
  10. Reports the results of waived tests to the RN in charge of patient care.
  11. Demonstrates ability to deliver an individualized plan of care as directed by the RN and evaluates for effectiveness.
  12. Demonstrates general knowledge of medical, surgical, and emergency nursing care within the scope of their practice.
  13. Demonstrates basic knowledge of medications and IV fluids within their scope of practice and anticipates patient reaction and/or response to fluids/meds.
  14. Assists in the triage and the evaluation of all patients presenting to the Emergency Department.
  15. Identifies physical symptoms and changes and reports finding to the RN in charge of patient care in a timely manner.
  16. Demonstrates knowledge of the vascular system and the ability to perform successful venipuncture with minimal supervision and/or unsuccessful attempts.
  17. Demonstrates knowledge of cardiac monitoring and can identify dysrhythmias. Demonstrates the ability to take appropriate action based on rhythm interpretation within their scope of practice.
  18. Demonstrates ability to initiate and obtain 12 lead EKG and right-sided EKG.
  19. Demonstrates a working knowledge of splint application and/or the application of other orthopedic soft goods within the scope of their practice.
  20. Addresses psychosocial needs of patient and family. Appropriately adjusts care for patients of all cultural and religious backgrounds.
  21. Manages and operates equipment safely and correctly
  22. Meets current documentation standards and policies and completes within their assigned shift.
  23. Carries out medical and surgical asepsis during treatments and special procedures. Utilizes universal precautions with all patients.
  24. Assists with orienting new staff members to the department.
  25. Can perform all the standard job requirements.

 

* Patient Account Rep

The Rep follows up on assigned accounts after claim submission.  Responsible for accurately and timely collection of claims billed to third-party payers as both primary, secondary, tertiary, etc.  Required to maintain  individual AR at the departmental goal as well as other departmental goals:  Cash Collections, AR Days.

 

* Medical Assistant/LPN/LVN

The MA/LPN/LVN assists the Provider in delivering high quality patient care.  Accurately document all necessary information within the patient’s chart.  Perform in-house lab tests, EKG’s, and assist with basic procedures.  Administer and document medications and vaccinations appropriately.  Follow-up with all outstanding patient orders and referrals. This is a fulltime position. Prior experience is required.

 

*Clinic Triage/Float RN

The Clinic Triage/Float RN position provides nursing triage services and health advice to patients over the phone. Performs a detailed evaluation of patient symptoms and provides appropriate medical advice on treating symptoms and/or recommendations for escalating treatment through scheduling a clinic appointment or recommending emergency treatment. Follows established procedures and protocols, and documents calls as required within the patient’s electronic health record.  Other duties may include but not limited to: clinic opening / closing procedures, returning patient messages, relaying testing results and provider recommendations, perform in-house lab tests, EKG’s, and assist with basic procedures.  Manage after hours messaging system, follow up with patient / provider as needed.  Administer and document medications and vaccinations appropriately.  Two or more years of relevant nursing and triage experience preferred.

 

* Clinic RN

Accurately documents all necessary information within the patient chart. Perform in-hours lab tests, EKG’s and assists with basic procedures.  Applicant must have Colorado RN license.

 

* Med/Surg RN

*PRN Paramedics

We are seeking paramedics with varying levels of experience that value providing safe and compassionate care, integrity and transparency in a just culture. *MRI Technologist PRN

The MRI Technologist will support the mission and values of PSMC. Under the direct supervision of the Radiology Manager, the MR Technologist performs diagnostic imaging to assist in a diagnosis of disease and injuries.  The MRI tech must always ensure the safety of him or herself, along with patients, patients’ family members and other medical personnel.  The MRI Technologist works effectively with patients and patients’ families and maintains a cooperative relationship with interdepartmental personnel. MRI technologists interpret a physician’s instructions, explain MRI procedures to patients, and select software and imaging parameters.

 

*X-ray/CT Technologist PRN

The CT/X-ray Technologist will support the mission and values of PSMC.  Under the direct supervision of the Diagnostic Imaging Manager, the CT/X-ray Technologist performs radiographic imaging to assist in a diagnosis of disease and injuries. Along with imaging, the technologist will assist the Radiologist with biopsies and other procedures as needed.   The CT/X-ray Technologist works effectively with patients and patients’ families and maintains a cooperative relationship with interdepartmental personnel.

 

* PRN Occupational Therapist

The Occupational Therapist will provide rehabilitative services to patients.  Occupational Therapy license is required.

 

* PRN Ultrasound Tech

The Ultrasound Technologist performs ultrasonic diagnostic procedures, e.g., echocardiograms, abdominal and pelvic sonograms, for patients as ordered.  Selects appropriate transducer, depending upon depth of field, organ to be identified, etc. Conducts scanning procedures using ultrasound equipment.  Assists physician in such procedures as needle biopsies, amniocentesis, renal biopsies, etc.
