*Housekeeper

The housekeeper will maintain and implement a clean, safe and positive patient care and work environment by following PSMC policies and procedures, best practice methods, and OSHA guidelines throughout the entire organization.

*Registration Clerk

The Clerk provides administrative support.

  • The clerk will courteously greet all patients in person and on the phone in a timely manner.
  • They are responsible for the accurate and efficient entering of patient information into the Electronic Health Record through the Registration Conversation.
  • They will enter, update or verify patient demographics, insurance and copayments for every encounter.
  • They are responsible for verifying insurance eligibility.
  • They are responsible for collecting and posting insurance copayments and patient payments.

*Inpatient RN

The RN provides/administers nursing care to patients in a safe, efficient, and courteous manner.

  • Follows proper nursing procedures in accordance with hospital policies and procedures
  • Demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possesses the ability to assess data reflective of the patient’s status and interpret the information needed to identify each patient’s requirements relative to his/her age-specific needs.
  • Looking for day and night coverage.  Must have valid Colorado RN license, BLS, ACLS, & PALS.
  • BSN preferred
  • Prefer two (2) years of experience as a registered nurse

*Discharge Clerk

The Discharge Clerk performs a variety of clerical tasks related to the patient discharge process.

  • Tasks require use of computer programs and applications to ensure proper documentation of patient activities, assist patients with appropriate paperwork, setup follow-up visits if required and collect payments.
  • The Discharge Clerk works under general supervision and must be able to work independently.
  • Strong customer service aptitude is required.

*Registration/Quality Review Supervisor

The Supervisor is responsible to direct, supervise, and coordinate daily activities for the Emergency Department Registration staff and perform Quality Review for facility wide Registration.

  • Responsibilities include ensuring patients are registered in a timely, efficient, and compliant manner and meeting all hospital, state, and federal guidelines.
  • Ensures all insurances are verified via Cerner, eSolutions, or Availity.
  • When patients are admitted to observation or Inpatient, reviews the encounter and ensures notification is called into the payer and email sent to Pre-Service to meet any pre-certification requirements.
  • Quality Review requirements include generating and working reports to review and correct encounters for accurate and timely claim generation.
  • Maintains quality service and patient satisfaction, assists direct reports in staffing aspects including but not limited to: scheduling, interviewing, hiring, training, monitoring, improving skill set and verifying competencies are completed.
  • Schedules and implements ED Registration Staff meetings as necessary.
  • Supervisor will cross train in all registration areas to assist with coverage as needed.
  • Individual must exhibit a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail in all documentation and correspondence.
  • Will assist in correcting mistakes, special projects, and miscellaneous/administrative duties assigned such as, but not limited to: placing supply orders, assisting in audits, re-training and incident reporting.

*Pre-Certification Specialist

The Pre-Certification Specialist is responsible for obtaining authorizations for ordered services, timely and accurately, to ensure reimbursement for outpatient services.

  • The specialist is responsible for providing complete documentation of clinical information to payers in support healthcare services to be authorized.

*Lab Assistant

The Laboratory Assistant is a model of professionalism and excellence in customer service to both internal and external customers of the laboratory.

  • This position provides routine and specialized clerical and secretarial assistance including; correspondence, filing, compiling and distributing information, doing data entry, generating reports, and assisting the Laboratory Manager as well as other administrative duties.
  • This position will also work closely with departmental staff members to provide clerical support for operations.
  • Works under direct technical supervision and performs waived complexity tests in accordance with standards established in the Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA) and/or appropriate agency protocol (COLA).
  • Records and participates in evaluation of Quality Control for tests conducted.
  • Performs all work in accord to the mission, vision and values of Pagosa Springs Medical Center.
  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Medical terminology course completed preferred.
  • Two years of clinical laboratory testing experience preferred.

*Medical Technologist

The Medical Technologist performs technical analytical procedures requiring knowledge and techniques in areas such as hematology, chemistry, special chemistry, microbiology, blood bank, serology, urinalysis, coagulation and phlebotomy as ordered by the physician.

  • Performs routine and special laboratory tests in accordance with written requisition of physician.
  • May perform clinical test in and one or combination of areas of specialization.
  • Performs routine maintenance and troubleshooting for laboratory instrumentation.
  • Performs, records and participates in evaluation of Quality Control for tests conducted.
  • Doctorate, Master’s, Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in Laboratory Sciences with completion of approved internship in Medical Technology required.
  • M(ASCLS) or MT(ASCLS) or equivalent. Medical Technologist – ASCP.

*Clinic Triage/Float RN

This position provides nursing triage services and health advice to patients over the phone.

  • Performs a detailed evaluation of patient symptoms and provides appropriate medical advice on treating symptoms and/or recommendations for escalating treatment through scheduling a clinic appointment or recommending emergency treatment.
  • Follows established procedures and protocols, and documents calls as required within the patient’s electronic health record.
  • Other duties may include but not limited to: clinic opening / closing procedures, returning patient messages, relaying testing results and provider recommendations, perform in-house lab tests, EKG’s, and assist with basic procedures.
  • Manage after hours messaging system, follow up with patient and provider as needed.
  • Administer and document medications and vaccinations appropriately.
  • Two or more years of relevant nursing and triage experience preferred.

*Medical Assistant

The MA is responsible for providing care to the patient under the direction of a physician or health care provider.

  • Assist the Provider in delivering high quality patient care.
  • This position requires accurate documentation in the patient chart specific to scope of practice for the MA role.
  • Perform in-house lab tests, EKG’s, and assist with basic procedures under the direction and supervision of a health care provider or RN.
  • Administer and document medications and vaccinations appropriately under the direction and supervision of a health care provider or RN.
  • Follow-up with all outstanding patient orders, referrals, and prior authorizations.

PSMC’s Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders opened in February of 2018 offering outpatient cancer and blood disorder treatment and infusion services. PSMC has dedicated clinical space specifically for oncology and infusion services with a well-coordinated team to provide personalized care to our patients. The qualified candidate will join a progressive team that includes an Advanced Practice Nurse specialized in Oncology, an Oncology Nurse Navigator, and our caring and qualified support staff.

Position Highlights    

  • At least 3-5 years of experience preferred, requires Board Certification or Board Eligible.
  • PSMC offers a comprehensive benefits package including life, medical, dental and vision insurance for full and part-time employees, a 401(a) retirement plan with a 6% employer match, subject to an initial vesting period, and an optional 457 deferred compensation plan is available.

*Part time Housekeeper

*PRN Infusion/Oncology RN

The RN is responsible for outpatient infusion services including chemotherapy.  Must be proficient in IV insertions, PICC line and Port-a-Cath management, Phlebotomy, blood transfusions, performing nursing H&P/assessment, communication with ordering physicians and staff, etc. Responsible for patient teaching such as injections and all aspects of IV infusion therapy for all ages and disease processes.  Must have Colorado RN license.  ONS Chemo/Bio Certification required or able to obtain within 3 months of hire. This is a PRN position.

 

*PRN ED RN

* Radiology Technologist

The Tech performs radiographic procedures to assist in a diagnosis of disease and injuries.  The Radiologic Technologist works effectively with patients and patients’ families and maintains a cooperative relationship with interdepartmental personnel.  Applicant must have CT experience.  This is a PRN (on-call) position.
