* Clinic RN

The RN provides/administers nursing care to patients in a safe, efficient, and courteous manner; follows proper nursing procedures in accordance with hospital policies and procedures. Accurately documents all necessary information within the patient chart. Perform in-hours lab tests, EKG’s and assists with basic procedures.  Applicant must have Colorado RN license.

 

* Clinic MA/LPN

The MA/LPN provides/administers nursing care to patients in a safe, efficient, and courteous manner; follows proper nursing procedures in accordance with hospital policies and procedures. Accurately documents all necessary information within the patient chart. Perform in-hours lab tests, EKG’s and assists with basic procedures.

 

*Respiratory Practitioner

Must have extensive experience in adult and pediatric acute care.  The RCP must be proficient with ventilators, and noninvasive ventilation (i.e. BiPaP, CPAP), and must be able to work independently. Blood gas sampling and analysis, along with EKG performance.  Knowledge in outpatient spirometry diagnostic testing, as well as cardiac stress testing is preferred. The RCP must have communication skills to effectively interact with all patients, staff, and perform patient care duties in accordance with established departmental and medical center protocols. Must have a minimum of 5 years’ Respiratory experience working in Acute Care/Emergency Department environment for adult and pediatric patients within an acute care hospital. Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Care school.  Current license as a Respiratory Care Practitioner in the State of Colorado.  Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT), or Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC).  Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required;   ACLS, and PALS Certification (must be completed within first year of employment).

 

*Paramedics

We are seeking paramedics with varying levels of experience that value providing safe and compassionate care, integrity and transparency in a just culture. We provide exceptional BLS and ALS services to our community of over 1800sq/mi. Shifts vary and wages are competitive. Every employee is hired to make significant contributions to PSMC EMS. Minimum current certifications in order to be considered for employment:  Valid driver license, National Registry/Colorado Paramedic certification, ACLS, PALS, BLS for Healthcare Providers (AHA). *Pre-Certification Specialist

The Pre-Certification Specialist is responsible for reviewing scheduled services to ensure reimbursement for outpatient services and that pre-certification has been obtained timely, accurate, and complete documentation of clinical information which supports healthcare services provided to patients.

Applicant must have two or more years of experience in a medical practice as a pre-certification specialist, or as an  MA or LPN and experience with insurance requirements related to pre-certification and reimbursement.

 

*Patient Financial Services Manager

The Manager is responsible for planning, developing, and leading the administrative and clinical support functions that contribute to the capture, management, and collection of patient services revenues from all payers for all hospital, clinic, ambulance, and professional services.  The Manager, PFS has responsibility for revenue cycle including patient access, compliance with third party contract terms , denials management, health system billing and collections, (including hospital, clinic, ambulance and professional), patient financial assistance, health information management as it relates to billing and coding, and regulatory compliance in conjunction with the appropriate compliance professionals.  Minimum of 5 years of proven, progressive experience in healthcare revenue cycle management.  Experience in both physician and hospital revenue cycle is ideal and preferred.  Must have experience in reimbursement strategy. Strong knowledge of federal and state collection laws, third-party payer and regulatory requirements. Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a high degree in professionalism in dealing with staff at all levels.

 

*Chemotherapy/Infusion Nurse

The RN is responsible for outpatient infusions services.  Must be proficient in IV insertions for all age groups, PICC line and Port-a-Cath management, Phlebotomy, blood transfusions, performing nursing H&P/assessment, communication with ordering physicians and staff, etc.  Responsible for patient teaching such as injections and all aspects of IV infusion therapy for all ages and disease processes.  PICC Line & ONCC certification preferred. BLS, PALS, and ACLS required

 

* Med/Surg RN

The RN provides/administers nursing care to patients in a safe, efficient, and courteous manner; follows proper nursing procedures in accordance with hospital policies and procedures; demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possesses the ability to assess data reflective of the patient’s status and interpret the information needed to identify each patient’s requirements relative to his/her age-specific needs. Applicant must have Colorado RN license.  Pediatric experience preferred.

 

*Patient Account Representative

The Rep follows up on assigned accounts after claim submission.  Responsible for accurately and timely collection of claims billed to third-party payers as both primary, secondary, tertiary, etc.  Required to maintain  individual AR at the departmental goal as well as other departmental goals:  Cash Collections, AR Days.

 

*ED RN

The RN provides/administers nursing care to patients in a safe, efficient, and courteous manner. He/she follows proper nursing procedures in accordance with hospital policies and procedures, and demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possesses the ability to assess data reflective of the patient’s status and interpret the information needed to identify each patient’s requirements relative to his/her age-specific needs.

 

*Registered Nurse First Assistant

The RNFA functions as the assistant to the operating surgeon during the operative procedure and provides comprehensive nursing management and care during the perioperative phase. Must have current Colorado RN license with a minimum of three years of perioperative nursing experience in both scrub and circulating role, CNOR certified, must have completed a Competency and Credentialing Institute(CCI) RNFA program that meets the criteria set out in the AORN Standards for the RN First Assistant Education programs, and must be able to apply principles of asepsis  and infection control. Must have knowledge of surgical anatomy, physiology, and operative technique relative to operative procedures. BLS required. ACLS preferred.

 

*Certified Medical Technologist

The Medical Tech will perform technical analytical procedures requiring knowledge and techniques in areas such as hematology, chemistry, special chemistry, microbiology, blood bank, serology, urinalysis, coagulation and phlebotomy as ordered by the physician. Performs routine maintenance and troubleshooting for laboratory instrumentation. Performs, records and participates in evaluation of Quality Control for tests conducted.

 

*Nutritional Service Worker

The Nutritional Service Worker will prepare and cook food for hospital patients, staff, and visitors. Must have a flexible schedule and willing to work nights and weekends.

 

*Psychiatrist

Pagosa Springs Medical Center (PSMC) has an opportunity available for a part-time Psychiatrist to join our expanding Behavioral Health Department and lead our licensed behavioral health practitioner. Duties will include mainly outpatient clinical patients, but may include consultation on inpatient cases at times. Candidates must be able to provide both acute and chronic psychiatric medication management to patients of all ages and be comfortable referring patients out for counseling. Integrative care experience preferred.

Position Highlights:

  • Successful candidate would lead our Behavioral Health Department – currently consisting of one licensed professional counselor
  • A 401(a) retirement plan with a 6% company match and an optional 457 deferred compensation plan available
  • Malpractice insurance is covered by the facility
  • Starting work bonus of $5,000 payable after relocation and two weeks after starting work for part-time provider
  • CME allowance of $3,000 for part-time providers.
  • 20 hours of CME leave per year for part-time providers
  • 110 hours of PTO per year (this includes holidays) for part-time providers working 30+ hours/week.

PSMC is a progressive, patient centered facility, which opened its doors in 2008.  The hospital is licensed for 11 beds and has Board Certified physicians caring for patients via our level IV trauma center. Other services include general surgery, orthopedic surgery, women’s health, imaging including CT and MRI, lab services, emergency medical services and infusion. Our Rural Health Clinic currently has a newly constructed addition with 32 exam rooms, housing both family medicine and internal medicine along with other specialists including, behavioral health, gastroenterology, cardiology, general and orthopedic surgery for a truly integrated approach. In early 2018, PSMC is launching a limited oncology/hematology program

*Patient Navigator

The Patient Navigator is responsible for coordinating patient care for patients referred into the program.  This position is actively involved in patient and family support, using a wrap-around model that is based on research regarding social determinants of health.  The position will work with patients and families to help them access support in a variety of avenues: financial, social, emotional, spiritual.  This position will help patients and families understand long term care planning and advance care planning and will be working upstream to ensure patients and families are prepared for potential medical trajectories. This will be a part time position at 8 hours per week.

*Housekeeper Part time

The Housekeeper will maintain and implement a clean, safe and positive patient care work environment.  Must be willing to work nights and weekends.  This is a fulltime position.  

 

*MRI Technologist PRN

The MRI Technologist will support the mission and values of PSMC. Under the direct supervision of the Radiology Manager, the MR Technologist performs diagnostic imaging to assist in a diagnosis of disease and injuries.  The MRI tech must always ensure the safety of him or herself, along with patients, patients’ family members and other medical personnel.  The MRI Technologist works effectively with patients and patients’ families and maintains a cooperative relationship with interdepartmental personnel. MRI technologists interpret a physician’s instructions, explain MRI procedures to patients, and select software and imaging parameters.

 

*X-ray/CT Technologist PRN

The CT/X-ray Technologist will support the mission and values of PSMC.  Under the direct supervision of the Diagnostic Imaging Manager, the CT/X-ray Technologist performs radiographic imaging to assist in a diagnosis of disease and injuries. Along with imaging, the technologist will assist the Radiologist with biopsies and other procedures as needed.   The CT/X-ray Technologist works effectively with patients and patients’ families and maintains a cooperative relationship with interdepartmental personnel.

 

*PRN RN OR Circulator

Perioperative Operating Room RN to be responsible for the safe, effective and quality patient-family centered care in the operating room, gastroenterology suite and other areas of surgical services for all patient populations. BLS/ACLS required, CNOR/CRNFA preferred, 5+ years of operating room circulator and scrub experience preferred, knowledge of Cerner Community Works electronic health record a plus.

 

* PRN Occupational Therapist

The Occupational Therapist will provide rehabilitative services to patients.  Occupational Therapy license is required.

 

* PRN Ultrasound Tech

The Ultrasound Technologist performs ultrasonic diagnostic procedures, e.g., echocardiograms, abdominal and pelvic sonograms, for patients as ordered.  Selects appropriate transducer, depending upon depth of field, organ to be identified, etc. Conducts scanning procedures using ultrasound equipment.  Assists physician in such procedures as needle biopsies, amniocentesis, renal biopsies, etc.
