*Chief Executive Officer

Pagosa Springs Medical Center in Pagosa Springs, CO seeks to hire an exceptional CEO to join our senior leadership team.

Pagosa Springs Medical Center (“PSMC”) operates an independent Critical Access Hospital, a Rural Health Clinic, and EMS/ambulance services in the rural community of Pagosa Springs, Colorado.  PSMC opened in 2008 and since that time has grown (both in facility size and service offerings) to provide community residents and visitors the following quality healthcare services: 24/7 Emergency Room, inpatient, orthopedic surgery, general surgery, gastroenterology, limited non-invasive cardiology, primary care, infusion therapy, lab and radiology.

PSMC is a key hub in the Pagosa Springs community.   PSMC is the only hospital in Archuleta County and the next closest hospital is approximately sixty miles away.  PSMC is important to the economy of Pagosa Springs as it supports the success of Pagosa’s tourism and second homeowner economy; further, PSMC is the largest employer in Archuleta County.  The sense of community pride resonates throughout the medical center and is best captured by its retiring CEO, Brad Cochennet: “It is the privilege of all PSMC employees to fulfill the community’s need for access to health care.  We are proud to provide access to care while we continually elevate our quality of care, scope of services, and our facilities.”

PSMC seeks a qualified and experienced CEO with unique talents to: lead PSMC in its continued growth of services and facilities, navigate the challenges of an uncertain and changing payor system, and foster community goodwill and financial support for the medical center.  Our CEO must be a source of stability in the medical center and in our community.

Qualified applicants must have:

  • minimum of Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university in an applicable field; preference for graduate degree.
  • minimum of ten years of executive-level leadership experience with at least five years of executive-level leadership at a healthcare facility.

 

*Clinic Nurse Manager

The Clinic Nurse Manager reports to the Director of the Clinics and is responsible to plan and administer the nursing activities of the primary care clinic and specialty clinic.  Among the Clinic Nurse Manager duties are:  manage day-to-day clinic nursing operations and resources; lead, coach and develop clinic nursing staff; assure nursing services are delivered to each patient in accordance with quality standards; lead and support nursing staff in performance improvement; serve as an effective liaison between physicians and patient care teams; prepare short and long-range plans and budgets related to clinic nursing; manage projects; effectively assess issues and resolve issues as they arise.  Bachelor’s degree and RN license required, and at least five years nursing experience; previous management experience is preferred.  

 

*Referral Specialist

The Specialist will receive referrals from primary care/specialty providers; processes referrals, pre-authorizations; provides clinicals as necessary; notifies patient of referral appointment; and assures received referrals related to patient record.

 

*Housekeeper

The Housekeeper will maintain and implement a clean, safe and positive patient care work environment.  Must be willing to work some nights and weekends.  This is a fulltime position.  

 

*Certified Medical Technologist

The Medical Tech will perform technical analytical procedures requiring knowledge and techniques in areas such as hematology, chemistry, special chemistry, microbiology, blood bank, serology, urinalysis, coagulation and phlebotomy as ordered by the physician. Performs routine maintenance and troubleshooting for laboratory instrumentation. Performs, records and participates in evaluation of Quality Control for tests conducted.

 

*Lead Medical Records Coder

The Lead Coder reviews clinical documentation and diagnostic results as necessary to extract data and apply appropriate ICD-10-CM and CPT codes for billing, internal and external reporting, and regulatory compliance.  They will accurately code outpatient conditions and procedures as documented in the ICD-10 Official Guidelines for Coding and Reporting. They will assist with writing Policies and Procedures relating to coding process.  They will be responsible for scheduling Continuing Education for coding staff. They will be a resource for research of coding questions. Applicant must have current CPC and CCS certifications.

*ED Registration Clerk PRN

The Registration Clerk will courteously greet all patients in person and on the phone in a timely manner. The Clerk is responsible for completing the registration information into the Patient Accounting System.  Responsible for collecting required patient demographic, insurance information, co-pay and accurately and efficiently entering this information into the electronic health record.  The Clerk is responsible to make patient appointments within the electronic health record. The Clerk is responsible for verifying insurance eligibility.  The Clerk is responsible for collecting and posting insurance copayments and patient payments.

 

*MRI Technologist PRN

The MRI Technologist will support the mission and values of PSMC. Under the direct supervision of the Radiology Manager, the MR Technologist performs diagnostic imaging to assist in a diagnosis of disease and injuries.  The MRI tech must always ensure the safety of him or herself, along with patients, patients’ family members and other medical personnel.  The MRI Technologist works effectively with patients and patients’ families and maintains a cooperative relationship with interdepartmental personnel. MRI technologists interpret a physician’s instructions, explain MRI procedures to patients, and select software and imaging parameters.

 

*X-ray/CT Technologist PRN

The CT/X-ray Technologist will support the mission and values of PSMC.  Under the direct supervision of the Diagnostic Imaging Manager, the CT/X-ray Technologist performs radiographic imaging to assist in a diagnosis of disease and injuries. Along with imaging, the technologist will assist the Radiologist with biopsies and other procedures as needed.   The CT/X-ray Technologist works effectively with patients and patients’ families and maintains a cooperative relationship with interdepartmental personnel.

 

*Part-time EMS Administrative Assistant

The Administrative Assistant provides support to the Emergency Medical Services Assistant Chief of Finance and EMS Department on a variety of administrative matters. Office experience and proficiency with MS Word, Excel, Outlook and Adobe Acrobat required, health care field experience preferred.    Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, preparing purchase orders, maintaining vendor files, registration and discharge of ambulance patients, entering charges associated with ambulance transports, answering departmental phone calls, data entry and maintaining employee certification records.  Candidates must be detail oriented, have excellent communication, organizational and people skills.  Professionalism and a commitment to patient confidentiality required.  This is a part time position (20 hours per week).

 

*PRN RN OR Circulator

The RN assist the Provider in delivering high quality patient care.  Accurately document all necessary information within the patient’s chart.  Perform in-house lab tests, EKG’s, and assist with basic procedures.  Administer and document medications and vaccinations appropriately.

 

*PRN RN PreOp/PACU

The RN assist the Provider in delivering high quality patient care.  Accurately document all necessary information within the patient’s chart.  Perform in-house lab tests, EKG’s, and assist with basic procedures.  Administer and document medications and vaccinations appropriately.

 

* PRN Occupational Therapist

The Occupational Therapist will provide rehabilitative services to patients.  Occupational Therapy license is required.

 

* PRN Ultrasound Tech

The Ultrasound Technologist performs ultrasonic diagnostic procedures, e.g., echocardiograms, abdominal and pelvic sonograms, for patients as ordered.  Selects appropriate transducer, depending upon depth of field, organ to be identified, etc. Conducts scanning procedures using ultrasound equipment.  Assists physician in such procedures as needle biopsies, amniocentesis, renal biopsies, etc.
