*Biller

The Biller is responsible for the accurate and timely billing of assigned insurances within Cerner and Revenue Manager.  Responsible for reviewing and correcting all claims in error and in a rejected status. Required to maintain claims held in scrubber at the departmental goal as well as other departmental goals:  Cash Collections, AR Days.

 

*Controller

The Controller directs and coordinates activities concerned with financial administration and general accounting and financial and statistical reporting and oversees the work of others in the accounting department. The Controller will oversee financial reports and conduct analyses of potential earnings and spending; oversee the departments of auditing, accounting and budgetary. The controller manages the payroll systems and offer ways to save money on company costs.

 

*Paramedic

We are seeking paramedics with varying levels of experience that value providing safe and compassionate care, integrity and transparency in a just culture. We provide exceptional BLS and ALS services to our community of over 1800sq/mi. Shifts vary and wages are competitive. Every employee is hired to make significant contributions to PSMC EMS. Minimum current certifications in order to be considered for employment:  Valid driver license, National Registry/Colorado Paramedic certification, ACLS, PALS, BLS for Healthcare Providers (AHA). *Administrative Assistant

The assistant provides administrative support for the Clinic Administrative team.    Assists the    Administrative team  with daily tasks, scheduling departmental meetings, data collection, invoice processing, other clerical duties projects, and initiatives for the department that may vary day to day. Must be able to adapt to a rapidly changing environment and assist, as directed, in various duties throughout the organization.  May include cross training to other department roles within the clinic setting.

 

*Phlebotomist

The Phlebotomist performs blood collection from patients, receipt of sample drop-off, performs urine drug screen collections, some waived standard biological, microbiological and chemical tests in all areas of the medical laboratory.  Works under direct technical supervision and performs waived complexity tests in accordance with standards established in the Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA) and/or appropriate agency protocol (COLA).  Records and participates in evaluation of Quality Control for tests conducted.  Does inventory control of work area.  Experience is required.

 

*Registered Nurse First Assistant

The RNFA functions as the assistant to the operating surgeon during the operative procedure and provides comprehensive nursing management and care during the perioperative phase.   The RNFA should be experienced in both scrub and circulating nurse roles and have excellent skills for patient care.  In addition, the RNFA must demonstrate leadership skills that foster positive teamwork in the surgery department.  The RNFA must have the maturity to work effectively with everyone in the surgery department and a demonstrated ability to productively solve issues/problems.  Qualified applicants need to: (1) be a graduate from an accredited school of nursing, BSN preferred; (2) have completed an accredited RNFA program that meets the criteria set out in the AORN Standards for the RN First Assistant Education programs; (3) have three years of perioperative nursing experience in both scrub and circulating roles; (4) must have knowledge of surgical anatomy, physiology, and operative technique relative to operative procedures (experience working in gastroenterology endoscopy lab preferred); and (5) be demonstrated team player, problem-solver, and ability to positively lead.

 

*PreOp/PACU RN

The PreOp/PACU RN is responsible for coordinating and managing patient care for surgical patients throughout the preoperative and postoperative phases. They will administer diligent care to surgical patients via assessment, monitoring, and intervention including care for the post-operative patients recovering from anesthesia (general, regional, and local). They will provide support, education, direct care to patients, and act as a liaison between the surgical team and the patient families/support systems. Using comprehensive, multidisciplinary approach to patient care, the PreOp/PACU nurse works closely with the entire surgical team. The PreOp/PACU registered nurse may serve as a: (1) Preoperative Nurse, (2) Post-Anesthesia Care Unit Nurse, (3) Conscious Sedation RN, (4) Pre-Admission Testing (PAT) Nurse, or (5) Infusion Nurse depending on level of experience and training.

 

*OR Circulator/Perioperative RN

The Perioperative RN is responsible for coordinating and managing safe, effective, and quality patient-family centered care for surgical patients throughout the perioperative process including the preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative phases. They will provide support, education, direct care to patients, and act as a liaison between the surgical team and the patient families/support systems. Using comprehensive, multidisciplinary approach to patient care, the perioperative nurse works closely with the entire surgical team. The perioperative registered nurse may serve as a: (1) Circulating Nurse, (2) 1st Scrub (Instrument) Nurse, or (3) 2nd Scrub (Assistant) Nurse depending on level of experience and training.

 

*Senior Level Oncology Nurse Navigator (ONN)

Accepting applications for Senior Level Oncology Nurse Navigator (ONN) as an integral part of the oncology team in Pagosa Springs, our beautiful mountain town in Southwestern, Colorado. The candidate must be experienced in providing high quality cancer care as well as having leadership and operational skills. The Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders at Pagosa Springs Medical Center opened its doors in February 2018, with an overwhelmingly positive community response. In August 2018, we added a third experienced oncology-hematology provider. Our team is seeking a highly motivated individual who is capable of taking the lead on assessing patient needs, identifying barriers, coordinating referrals, providing education, and assisting with survivorship care plans for all Oncology/Hematology patients. Applicant must possess specialized clinical skills in the oncology nurse navigation role and be well organized. Applicant will work closely with our three providers and cancer center staff to coordinate patient care and will cross train in Infusion for consistency during absences. BLS, PALS and ACLS required.

 

* Medical Assistant/LPN/LVN

The MA/LPN/LVN assists the Provider in delivering high quality patient care.  Accurately document all necessary information within the patient’s chart.  Perform in-house lab tests, EKG’s, and assist with basic procedures.  Administer and document medications and vaccinations appropriately.  Follow-up with all outstanding patient orders and referrals. This is a fulltime position. Prior experience is required.

 

* Clinic RN

The RN provides/administers nursing care to patients in a safe, efficient, and courteous manner; follows proper nursing procedures in accordance with hospital policies and procedures. Accurately documents all necessary information within the patient chart. Perform in-hours lab tests, EKG’s and assists with basic procedures.  Applicant must have Colorado RN license.

*PRN Nutritional Services Worker

The Nutritional Services Worker will prepare and cook food for hospital patients, staff, and visitors. Must have a flexible schedule and willing to work nights and weekends.

 

* Part time Administrative Assistant for EMS

This could be either part time or full time.  There is an opportunity for a full time EMT/Admin Assistant combination position, 44 hours per week.  The Administrative Assistant provides support to the Emergency Medical Services Administrative team and Department.  Office experience and proficiency with MS Word, Excel, Outlook and Adobe Acrobat required, EMS or health care field experience preferred.   Current Colorado EMT or higher certification preferred.  Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, preparing purchase orders, maintaining vendor files, scheduling of meetings, recording meeting minutes, answering departmental phone calls, data entry and maintaining employee certification records.  Candidates must be detail oriented, have excellent communication, organizational and people skills.  Professionalism and a commitment to patient confidentiality required

 

* PRN Ultrasound Tech

The Ultrasound Technologist will support the mission and values of PSMC. Under the direct supervision of the Diagnostic Imaging Manager, the Ultrasound Technologist performs diagnostic sonograms as requested by Providers. The Ultrasound Technologist selects appropriate transducers, depending upon depth of field, organ or body part to be identified, etc. The Ultrasound technologist conducts scanning procedures using ultrasound equipment and assists the physician with  procedures, such as biopsies and aspirations.

 

* PRN ED RN

The RN provides/administers nursing care to patients in a safe, efficient, and courteous manner; follows proper nursing procedures in accordance with hospital policies and procedures; demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possesses the ability to assess data reflective of the patient’s status and interpret the information needed to identify each patient’s requirements relative to his/her age-specific needs. Applicant must have Colorado RN license.  Pediatric experience preferred.  Sign on bonus / moving expenses included.  Come join our team in this beautiful mountain town in Southwestern, Colorado.

 

* PRN ED Tech

Assists in the administration of care to emergency room patients in a safe, efficient, and courteous manner.  Must be a Paramedic.

  1. Assists in the administration of care to patients in a safe, efficient, and courteous manner
  2. Follows proper procedures in accordance with hospital policies and procedures
  3. Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served
  4. Possesses the ability to assess/collect data reflective of the patient’s status needed to identify each patient’s requirements relative to his/her age-specific needs
  5. Prioritizes and assists in the delivery of direct patient care
  6. Demonstrates ability to perform head-to-toe assessment on all patients within the scope of their practice and reassesses as needed. This includes pediatric, geriatric and the general patient population.
  7. Ability to adequately assess and reassess pain. Utilizes appropriate pain management techniques.
  8. Performs all aspects of patient care in an environment that optimizes patient safety and reduces the likelihood of medical/health care errors.
  9. Ability to perform waived testing (point-of-care testing) per Clinical Laboratory’s and the patient care unit’s policies and procedures.
  10. Reports the results of waived tests to the RN in charge of patient care.
  11. Demonstrates ability to deliver an individualized plan of care as directed by the RN and evaluates for effectiveness.
  12. Demonstrates general knowledge of medical, surgical, and emergency nursing care within the scope of their practice.
  13. Demonstrates basic knowledge of medications and IV fluids within their scope of practice and anticipates patient reaction and/or response to fluids/meds.
  14. Assists in the triage and the evaluation of all patients presenting to the Emergency Department.
  15. Identifies physical symptoms and changes and reports finding to the RN in charge of patient care in a timely manner.
  16. Demonstrates knowledge of the vascular system and the ability to perform successful venipuncture with minimal supervision and/or unsuccessful attempts.
  17. Demonstrates knowledge of cardiac monitoring and can identify dysrhythmias. Demonstrates the ability to take appropriate action based on rhythm interpretation within their scope of practice.
  18. Demonstrates ability to initiate and obtain 12 lead EKG and right-sided EKG.
  19. Demonstrates a working knowledge of splint application and/or the application of other orthopedic soft goods within the scope of their practice.
  20. Addresses psychosocial needs of patient and family. Appropriately adjusts care for patients of all cultural and religious backgrounds.
  21. Manages and operates equipment safely and correctly
  22. Meets current documentation standards and policies and completes within their assigned shift.
  23. Carries out medical and surgical asepsis during treatments and special procedures. Utilizes universal precautions with all patients.
  24. Assists with orienting new staff members to the department.
  25. Can perform all the standard job requirements.

 

*ED Registration Clerk – PRN

The ED Registration Clerk is responsible for collecting and accurately entering patient information into the Patient Accounting System then completing verification of patient’s insurance eligibility using available applications. Clerk will make, answer and direct calls for medical staff in the emergency department and inpatient area. Individual must exhibit a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail in all documentation and correspondence.  Employee must also be dedicated to customer service and upholding the highest level of patient satisfaction.  Must have the ability to work and multi-task at a rapid pace with numerous interruptions 100% of the time. Must be willing to assist in various tasks, duties, and projects assigned.

 

*PRN Paramedics
