* EMT-Basic

It is the role of the EMT-B to assist in all aspects of providing the highest quality patient care possible. This would include providing direct patient care for those patients that fall under the EMT-B scope of practice and providing assistance as needed to their ALS partner.  The EMT-B is also responsible for verifying that their assigned ambulance is mechanically sound and properly equipped at the start of their shift.  The EMT-B may also be given other station duties or training assignments as deemed necessary by the district.  The EMT-B will be expected to maintain, in good standing, all certifications that are required by their job.  It is also their responsibility, to the best of their ability, to foster and maintain professional relationships with other providers, staff, and patients.  We provide exceptional BLS and ALS services to our community of over 1800sq/mi. Shifts vary and wages are competitive. Every employee is hired to make significant contributions to PSMC EMS. Minimum current certifications in order to be considered for employment:  Valid driver license, National Registry/Colorado EMT certification, ACLS, PALS, BLS for Healthcare Providers (AHA).

 

* Medical Assistant/LPN/LVN

The MA/LPN/LVN assists the Provider in delivering high quality patient care.  Accurately document all necessary information within the patient’s chart.  Perform in-house lab tests, EKG’s, and assist with basic procedures.  Administer and document medications and vaccinations appropriately.  Follow-up with all outstanding patient orders and referrals. This is a fulltime position. Prior experience is required.

 

*Respiratory Practitioner

The Respiratory Practitioner assists in Planning and implementing the overall respiratory care policies, procedures, and services.  Ensures efficient and effective departmental operations.   Familiar with a variety of the field’s concepts, practices and procedures.  Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.  Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.  Must have at least 5 years’ technical Respiratory experience in ED/ Acute Care environment for adult  and pediatric patients within an acute care hospital.  Must have a working knowledge of Respiratory/ hospital operations.  Must have extensive experience in adult and pediatric acute care.  Experience with ventilators, and must be able to work independently.  Cardiac diagnostic testing experience (i.e. holter monitors, stress tests, and stress echo’s) preferred.

 

*Surgical Pre-admission Testing (PAT) RN

The PAT RN is responsible for the planning, coordination, screening, and pre-procedure orientation for all of the patients undergoing a planned surgical/procedural event. The PAT RN serves as the facilitator of communications within the multi-disciplinary team. The PAT RN will evaluate each patient to identify perioperative and intraoperative risks or problems, so that they may be avoided. In addition, the PAT RN will work directly with anesthesia providers and surgeons to determine necessary safety screening criteria and pre-op teaching standards. This role is required to perform the full pre-surgical history either over the phone or via a scheduled onsite PAT nurse appointment in conjunction with an anesthesia provider (as needed). The PAT RN helps to arrange medical consultations for patients, if necessary. All the pre-operative teaching and coordination of teaching with other departments in the hospital is managed by this position. Surgical prep instructions, including but not limited to, NPO requirements, medications to be taken on the morning of surgery, and anesthesia options will be covered routinely. The PAT RN will ensure that all ordered diagnostic tests and labs are completed by the patient in a timely manner. The PAT RN is a member of the Surgical Services team and will be expected to cross-train to other roles as assigned such as the PreOp/PACU RN, Circulator RN or Infusion RN roles.  Three to five years of previous experience in a relevant surgical RN role is a must. BLS, PALS, and ACLS required.

 

*Medical Technologist

The Med Tech performs technical analytical procedures requiring knowledge and techniques in areas such as hematology, chemistry, special chemistry, microbiology, blood bank, serology, urinalysis, coagulation and phlebotomy as ordered by the physicians.  Performs routine maintenance and troubleshooting for laboratory instrumentation.  Performs, records and participates in evaluation of Quality Control for tests conducted. Must have at least an Associate’s degree in Laboratory Sciences with Medical Technologist certification.

 

*Clinic Triage/Float RN

The Clinic Triage/Float RN position provides nursing triage services and health advice to patients over the phone. Performs a detailed evaluation of patient symptoms and provides appropriate medical advice on treating symptoms and/or recommendations for escalating treatment through scheduling a clinic appointment or recommending emergency treatment. Follows established procedures and protocols, and documents calls as required within the patient’s electronic health record.  Other duties may include but not limited to: clinic opening / closing procedures, returning patient messages, relaying testing results and provider recommendations, perform in-house lab tests, EKG’s, and assist with basic procedures.  Manage after hours messaging system, follow up with patient / provider as needed.  Administer and document medications and vaccinations appropriately.  Two or more years of relevant nursing and triage experience preferred.

 

* ED RN

The RN provides/administers nursing care to patients in a safe, efficient, and courteous manner; follows proper nursing procedures in accordance with hospital policies and procedures; demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possesses the ability to assess data reflective of the patient’s status and interpret the information needed to identify each patient’s requirements relative to his/her age-specific needs. Applicant must have Colorado RN license.  Pediatric experience preferred.

 

* Clinic RN

The RN provides/administers nursing care to patients in a safe, efficient, and courteous manner; follows proper nursing procedures in accordance with hospital policies and procedures. Accurately documents all necessary information within the patient chart. Perform in-hours lab tests, EKG’s and assists with basic procedures.  Applicant must have Colorado RN license.

 

* Med/Surg RN

The RN provides/administers nursing care to patients in a safe, efficient, and courteous manner; follows proper nursing procedures in accordance with hospital policies and procedures; demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possesses the ability to assess data reflective of the patient’s status and interpret the information needed to identify each patient’s requirements relative to his/her age-specific needs. Applicant must have Colorado RN license.  Pediatric experience preferred.

 

*Nutritional Service Worker

The Nutritional Service Worker will prepare and cook food for hospital patients, staff, and visitors. Must have a flexible schedule and willing to work nights and weekends.

*PRN Paramedics

*Housekeeper PRN

The Housekeeper will maintain and implement a clean, safe and positive patient care work environment.  Must be willing to work nights and weekends.   

 

*MRI Technologist PRN

The MRI Technologist will support the mission and values of PSMC. Under the direct supervision of the Radiology Manager, the MR Technologist performs diagnostic imaging to assist in a diagnosis of disease and injuries.  The MRI tech must always ensure the safety of him or herself, along with patients, patients’ family members and other medical personnel.  The MRI Technologist works effectively with patients and patients’ families and maintains a cooperative relationship with interdepartmental personnel. MRI technologists interpret a physician’s instructions, explain MRI procedures to patients, and select software and imaging parameters.

 

*X-ray/CT Technologist PRN

The CT/X-ray Technologist will support the mission and values of PSMC.  Under the direct supervision of the Diagnostic Imaging Manager, the CT/X-ray Technologist performs radiographic imaging to assist in a diagnosis of disease and injuries. Along with imaging, the technologist will assist the Radiologist with biopsies and other procedures as needed.   The CT/X-ray Technologist works effectively with patients and patients’ families and maintains a cooperative relationship with interdepartmental personnel.

 

* PRN Occupational Therapist

The Occupational Therapist will provide rehabilitative services to patients.  Occupational Therapy license is required.

 

* PRN Ultrasound Tech

The Ultrasound Technologist performs ultrasonic diagnostic procedures, e.g., echocardiograms, abdominal and pelvic sonograms, for patients as ordered.  Selects appropriate transducer, depending upon depth of field, organ to be identified, etc. Conducts scanning procedures using ultrasound equipment.  Assists physician in such procedures as needle biopsies, amniocentesis, renal biopsies, etc.
