*PreOp/PACU RN

The PreOp/PACU RN is responsible for coordinating and managing patient care for surgical patients throughout the preoperative and postoperative phases.

  • They will administer diligent care to surgical patients via assessment, monitoring, and intervention including care for the post-operative patients recovering from anesthesia (general, regional, and local).
  • They will provide support, education, direct care to patients, and act as a liaison between the surgical team and the patient families/support systems.
  • Using comprehensive, multidisciplinary approach to patient care, the PreOp/PACU nurse works closely with the entire surgical team.
  • The PreOp/PACU registered nurse may serve as a: (1) Preoperative Nurse, (2) Post-Anesthesia Care Unit Nurse, (3) Conscious Sedation RN, (4) Pre-Admission Testing (PAT) Nurse, or (5) Infusion Nurse depending on level of experience and training.
  • Compensation range for this position is $31.33 to $37.00

*Patient Registration Clerk

The Patient Registration Clerk provides administrative support.

  • The Registration Clerk will courteously greet all patients in person and on the phone in a timely manner.
  • The Clerk is responsible for the accurate and efficient entering of patient information in the Electronic Health Record through the Registration Conversation.
  • The Clerk is responsible for verifying insurance eligibility.
  • The Clerk is responsible for collecting and posting insurance co-payments and patient payments.
  • Compensation range for this position is $14.25 to $16.00

*Referral Specialist

The Specialist will receive referrals from primary care/specialty providers; processes referrals, pre-authorizations; provides clinicals as necessary; notifies patient of referral appointment; and assures received referrals related to patient record.

  • Assist the Provider in delivering high quality patient care.
  • Process and manage referrals from a worklist.
  • Document referrals.
  • Communicate with physician, nursing staff, and patient the status of the referral; document status in the EMR.
  • Track pending referrals and their status.
  • Retrieve results of the referral; incorporate results into the EMR.
  • Utilize the Message Center to communicate with the patient care teams.
  • Utilize the Patient Portal, if appropriate, to communicate status of referrals to patients; may use other means of communication if portal is not operational.
  • Manage patient population lists within Dynamic Worklist as required.
  • Management may include mas outreach, individual patient outreach, scheduling, and communication/coordination with patient care teams.
  • Manage Preventive Care Advisor for recommended Medicare screening services. Management may include mass outreach, individual outreach, scheduling and communication/coordination with patient care teams.
  • Compensation for this position is $15.00 – $18.00

*Medical Assistant/LPN

The MA/LPN Responsible for providing care to the patient under the direction of a physician or health care provider.

  • Assist the Provider in delivering high quality patient care.
  • This position requires accurate documentation in the patient chart specific to scope of practice for the MA or LPN role.
  • Perform in-house lab tests, EKG’s, and assist with basic procedures under the direction and supervision of a health care provider or RN.
  • Administer and document medications and vaccinations appropriately under the direction and supervision of a health care provider or RN.
  • Follow-up with all outstanding patient orders, referrals, and prior authorizations. Compensation for this position is $16.00 – $22.00

*Clinic RN

The RN assists the provider in delivering high quality patient care.

  • Accurately document all necessary information within the patient’s chart
  • Perform in-house lab tests, EKG’s and assist with basic procedures.
  • Administer and document medications and vaccinations appropriately.
  • Follow =up with all outstanding patient orders, referrals, and prior authorizations
  • Prefer a minimum of 2 years experience as a registered nurse.
  • Active registered nurse licensure in the State of Colorado.

*Medical Assistant/Scheduler

The MA/Scheduler is responsible for answering phones and scheduling patient appointments for both Infusion and Oncology Clinic.

  • Provides care to the patient under the direction of a physician or health care provider in the Oncology Clinic, assisting the Provider in delivering high quality patient care.
  • This position requires accurate documentation in the patient chart specific to scope of practice for the MA role.
  • Assists with basic procedures under the direction and supervision of a health care provider.
  • Administer and document medications and vaccinations appropriately under the direction and supervision of a health care provider or RN.
  • Follow-up with all outstanding patient orders, referrals, and prior authorizations.
  • Strong telephone skills, organizational skills and attention to detail is a must for this position.
  • Compensation for this position is $16.00

*Nutritional Services Worker

This person prepares meals & functions in a timely manner for the hospital patients, staff and visitors.

  • Follow menus according to those established by the facility, helps prepare food according to established recipes, maintain cooking equipment and keeping preparation area clean & organized.
  • Able to support front of house operations with cash register functions, taking orders, and delivery of café and patient meals.
  • Compensation range for this position is $14.25 to $16.00

The Registration Float will be responsible for the accurate and efficient entering of patient information in the Electronic Health Record (EHR) through several different applications of our EHR . In person and phone communication with patients is an important responsibility in this position. Flexibility to changing demands in the department is a key requirement of this position.  Compensation range for this position is $14.25 to $16.00

*Paramedic

* Radiology Technologist

The Tech performs radiographic procedures to assist in a diagnosis of disease and injuries.

  • Compensation range for this position is $23.00-$28.00

*Phlebotomist

The Phlebotomist performs blood collection from patients, some waived standard biological, microbiological and chemical tests in all areas of the medical laboratory.

  • Works under direct technical supervision and performs waived complexity tests in accordance with standards established in the Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA) and/or appropriate agency protocol (COLA).
  • Records and participates in evaluation of Quality Control for tests conducted.
  • Performs all work in accord to the mission, vision and values of Pagosa Springs Medical Center.

*Discharge Clerk/Scheduler

The Discharge Clerk/Scheduler performs a variety of clerical tasks related to patient scheduling and discharge processes.

  • This position completes patient documentation, which may include use of computer programs and applications, ensuring proper documentation of patient activities in the electronic health record (EHR), performs insurance verification, schedule follow-up visit if required and collect payments.
  • Performs a variety of tasks.
  • Works under general supervision.
  • A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required.
  • Strong customer service aptitude is required.
  • Pay range $14.00-$16.00

*Med/Surg RN

The RN must administer patient care, across the age continuum, in a safe, efficient and courteous manner in accordance with hospital policies and procedures. Performs routine maintenance and troubleshooting for laboratory instrumentation.

  • Must meet all the requirements and standards set forth in the PSMC Acute Care Registered Nurse job description.
  • Prefer a minimum of 2 years experience as a registered nurse.
  • Active registered nurse licensure in the State of Colorado.
  • Current BLS certification is required, ALCS and PALS are preferred.
  • This is a night shift position
  • Pay range $31.33-$37.00

*Medical Technologist

The Tech performs technical analytical procedures requiring knowledge and techniques in areas such as hematology, chemistry, special chemistry, microbiology, blood bank, serology, urinalysis, coagulation and phlebotomy as ordered by the physicians.

  • Performs routine maintenance and troubleshooting for laboratory instrumentation.
  • Performs records and participates in evaluation of Quality Control for tests conducted.
  • Must have at least an Associate’s degree in Laboratory Sciences with Medical Technologist certification.
  • Pay Range $28.00-$31.00
  • $5.00 night shift differential

*Infusion/Oncology RN

The RN is responsible for outpatient infusion services including chemotherapy.

  • Must be proficient in IV insertions, PICC line and Port-a-Cath management, Phlebotomy, blood transfusions, performing nursing H&P/assessment, communication with ordering physicians and staff, etc.
  • Responsible for patient teaching such as injections and all aspects of IV infusion therapy for all disease processes.
  • Must have Colorado RN license.
  • ONS Chemo/Bio Certification required or able to obtain within 3 months of hire.
  • Pay range $31.33-$37.00

The Preservice Float will work in various positions within Pre-Service and Registration to include Front Registration, Emergency Department Registration, Scheduling/Pre-Registration, Insurance Verification and Call Receptionist/Switchboard.

*PRN Mammography Tech

The Mammography Technologist will support the mission and values of PSMC. Under the direct supervision of the Diagnostic Imaging Manager and the Radiologist, the Mammography Technologist performs Screening and Diagnostic Mammograms to assist in the diagnosis of disease. The Mammography Technologist also performs diagnostic procedures and assists the Radiologist with these procedures. The Mammography Technologist works effectively with patients and patients’ families and maintains a cooperative relationship with interdepartmental personnel. Before performing any exam or procedure, the Mammography Technologist will check orders from providers for appropriateness in accordance with the indication and will contact providers to correct orders as needed. Must also be trained in Bone Density or willing to train.  Must be licensed through ARRT in Mammography and have BLS/CPR. Compensation for this position starts at $26.00 an hour.

 

*PRN Ultrasound Tech

The Ultrasound Technologist will support the mission and values of PSMC. Under the direct supervision of the Diagnostic Imaging Manager, the Ultrasound Technologist performs diagnostic sonograms as requested by Providers. The Ultrasound Technologist selects appropriate transducers, depending upon depth of field, organ or body part to be identified, etc. The Ultrasound technologist conducts scanning procedures using ultrasound equipment and assists the physician with procedures, such as biopsies and aspirations. The Ultrasound Technologist works effectively with patients and patients’ families and maintains a cooperative relationship with interdepartmental personnel. Before performing any exam or procedure, the Ultrasound Technologist will check orders from providers for appropriateness in accordance with the indication and will contact providers to correct orders as needed.  Must be licensed through ARRT or ARDMS with certification in OB/GYN, Abdomen and RVT preferred. Must have BLS/CPR.  Compensation for this position starts at $30.00 an hour.

 

*PRN ED RN

Looking for day and night coverage.  Must have valid Colorado RN license, BLS, ACLS, & PALS. Compensation range for this position: $31.33-$37.00

* Radiology Technologist

The CNA assists in the administration of care to patients in a safe, efficient, and courteous manner.  Follows proper procedures in accordance with hospital policies and procedures.  Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served.  Possesses the ability to assess/collect data reflective of the patient’s status needed to identify each patient’s requirements relative to his/her age-specific needs.  Compensation range for this position: $13.00 – $15.00.
