*Radiology Scheduler

The Radiology Scheduler is responsible for contacting patients and scheduling them for provider ordered procedures within a predetermined timeframe.

  • Computer skills are required and previous radiology scheduling is preferred.
  • The scheduler must exhibit a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail in all documentation and correspondence.

*Surgery Scheduler

The scheduler schedules patients for surgical pre-admission testing, surgery, surgical follow-up appointments, and outpatient physical therapy.

  • Schedules post-operative referrals and coordinates post-operative referrals.
  • Collaborates with the PSMC clinic pre-certification specialist to ensure prior authorization process completion as required per PSMC policy.
  • Assists in review of daily surgical case charges to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Prepares monthly staffing schedules, on-call schedules, and staff duties checklist.
  • Coordinates availability of resources needed for procedures to include surgeon, assistants, pathology, radiology, anesthesia and vendors/reps.
  • Responsible for assisting the Director of Surgical Services with monthly reporting (i.e. surgical case stats, patient reminder letters, surgery patient satisfaction survey results, etc.).
  • In addition, this position provides administrative assistant support to the department.

*Patient Screener

This position will be responsible to greet and acknowledge all patients, family members, and visitors of Pagosa Springs Medical Center in a friendly, professional, courteous, and helpful manner. The screener will screen all patients, guests and visitors before entry.  Clinical experience preferred but not mandatory.  This position is four ten-hour shifts per week.

*Infusion/Oncology RN

The RN is responsible for outpatient infusion services including chemotherapy.

  • Must be proficient in IV insertions, PICC line and Port-a-Cath management, Phlebotomy, blood transfusions, performing nursing H&P/assessment, communication with ordering physicians and staff, etc.
  • Responsible for patient teaching such as injections and all aspects of IV infusion therapy for all disease processes.
  • Must have Colorado RN license.
  • ONS Chemo/Bio Certification required or able to obtain within 3 months of hire.

*Housekeeper

The housekeeper will maintain and implement a clean, safe and positive patient care and work environment by following PSMC policies and procedures, best practice methods, and OSHA guidelines throughout the entire organization.

*Registration/Quality Review Supervisor

The Supervisor is responsible to direct, supervise, and coordinate daily activities for the Emergency Department Registration staff and perform Quality Review for facility wide Registration.

  • Responsibilities include ensuring patients are registered in a timely, efficient, and compliant manner and meeting all hospital, state, and federal guidelines.
  • Ensures all insurances are verified via Cerner, eSolutions, or Availity.
  • When patients are admitted to observation or Inpatient, reviews the encounter and ensures notification is called into the payer and email sent to Pre-Service to meet any pre-certification requirements.
  • Quality Review requirements include generating and working reports to review and correct encounters for accurate and timely claim generation.
  • Maintains quality service and patient satisfaction, assists direct reports in staffing aspects including but not limited to: scheduling, interviewing, hiring, training, monitoring, improving skill set and verifying competencies are completed.
  • Schedules and implements ED Registration Staff meetings as necessary.
  • Supervisor will cross train in all registration areas to assist with coverage as needed.
  • Individual must exhibit a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail in all documentation and correspondence.
  • Will assist in correcting mistakes, special projects, and miscellaneous/administrative duties assigned such as, but not limited to: placing supply orders, assisting in audits, re-training and incident reporting.

*Medical Assistant

The MA is responsible for providing care to the patient under the direction of a physician or health care provider.

  • Assist the Provider in delivering high quality patient care.
  • This position requires accurate documentation in the patient chart specific to scope of practice for the MA role.
  • Perform in-house lab tests, EKG’s, and assist with basic procedures under the direction and supervision of a health care provider or RN.
  • Administer and document medications and vaccinations appropriately under the direction and supervision of a health care provider or RN.
  • Follow-up with all outstanding patient orders, referrals, and prior authorizations.

*Nutritional Services Worker

The Nutritional Service Worker prepares and cooks food for hospital patients, staff, and visitors. Must have a flexible schedule and willing to work nights and weekends.  This is a full time position with an excellent benefit package including:

PSMC’s Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders opened in February of 2018 offering outpatient cancer and blood disorder treatment and infusion services. PSMC has dedicated clinical space specifically for oncology and infusion services with a well-coordinated team to provide personalized care to our patients. The qualified candidate will join a progressive team that includes an Advanced Practice Nurse specialized in Oncology, an Oncology Nurse Navigator, and our caring and qualified support staff.

Position Highlights    

  • At least 3-5 years of experience preferred, requires Board Certification or Board Eligible.
  • PSMC offers a comprehensive benefits package including life, medical, dental and vision insurance for full and part-time employees, a 401(a) retirement plan with a 6% employer match, subject to an initial vesting period, and an optional 457 deferred compensation plan is available.

*Part time Patient Registration Clerk

The Clerk provides administrative support. The clerk will courteously greet all patients in person and on the phone in a timely manner. They are responsible for the accurate and efficient entering of patient information into the Electronic Health Record through the Registration Conversation. They will enter, update or verify patient demographics, insurance and copayments for every encounter. They are responsible for verifying insurance eligibility.  They are responsible for collecting and posting insurance copayments and patient payments.

 

* Radiology Technologist

The Tech performs radiographic procedures to assist in a diagnosis of disease and injuries.  The Radiologic Technologist works effectively with patients and patients’ families and maintains a cooperative relationship with interdepartmental personnel.  Applicant must have CT experience.  This is a PRN (on-call) position.

 

*PRN Paramedics

We are seeking paramedics with varying levels of experience that value providing safe and compassionate care, integrity and transparency in a just culture.
