*Certified Surgical Technologist

The Surgical Technologist will work directly with the surgeon and the circulating registered nurse.

  • Assists surgeon during gastroenterology endoscopy, operative and invasive procedures with a working knowledge of sterile and aseptic technique.
  • Assures operating suite is adequately prepared and maintained for procedures.
  • Monitors inventory of surgical instruments and supplies.
  • Cleans, reprocesses and sterilizes surgical instruments.
  • Participates in departmental staff meetings and performance improvement activities.
  • Recommends, develops, implements and evaluates goals, objectives, policies, and procedures related to Diagnostic Imaging.

*Clinic RN

The RN assists the provider in delivering high quality patient care.

  • Accurately document all necessary information within the patient’s chart

*Diagnostic Imaging Manager

The Manager plans, organizes, manages and directs the operation of Pagosa Springs Medical Center’s Diagnostic Imaging Services Department.

  • Recommends, develops, implements and evaluates goals, objectives, policies, and procedures related to Diagnostic Imaging.
  • Organizes and leads monthly staff meeting and provides staff support and selects, trains, supervises, disciplines and evaluates subordinates, in accordance with PSMC policy.

*Discharge Clerk/Scheduler

The Discharge Clerk/Scheduler performs a variety of clerical tasks related to patient scheduling and discharge processes.

  • This position completes patient documentation, which may include use of computer programs and applications, ensuring proper documentation of patient activities in the electronic health record (EHR), performs insurance verification, schedule follow-up visit if required and collect payments.

*Health Informatics Specialist

The informatics specialist provides support to all staff utilizing the Cerner Electronic Health Record.

  • Works collaboratively with Department Directors and Managers to improve workflow efficiency within the EHR.
  • Performs software testing and validation across both clinical and revenue cycle solutions.
  • Assists patients with establishing and troubleshooting patient portal accounts.
  • Submits and manages Cerner service requests.
  • Monitors uCern and reports domain-wide issues and subsequent resolutions to end users.
  • Provides approved end users with access to CORHIO Patient Care 360 and provides support to end users utilizing this portal.
  • Assists in providing and analyzing data by running, validating and troubleshooting clinical and revenue cycle reports.

* Manager of Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI)

This key management position is responsible for leading an effective and sustainable, data-driven, facility-wide quality assurance and performance improvement program.

  • The QAPI manager maintains a quality infrastructure that includes developing and implementing decision tools, clinical processes and guidelines, care management programs, and outcome measurement assessments.
  • This manager leads both the Quality Counsel and the Performance Improvement Committee. The QAPI manager assures that PSMC participates fully with regulatory quality programs both federal and state.
  • The QAPE Manager participates in external committees and meetings to develop critical relationships with community, state and professional resources.
  • The QAPI manager has strong leadership, interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to analyze situations and arrive at creative solutions to complex healthcare challenges.
  • The QAPI Manager will possess a Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field and possess clinical experience.
  • Compensation for this position is $80,000 to $105,000

The MA/LPN Responsible for providing care to the patient under the direction of a physician or health care provider.

*Medical Technologist

The Tech performs technical analytical procedures requiring knowledge and techniques in areas such as hematology, chemistry, special chemistry, microbiology, blood bank, serology, urinalysis, coagulation and phlebotomy as ordered by the physicians.

*Outpatient Infusion Registered Nurse

The RN is responsible for outpatient infusion services including chemotherapy.

  • Must be proficient in IV insertions, PICC line and Port-a-Cath management, for ages 18 through end-of life
  • Proficiency in administration of: chemotherapy, biotherapy, immunotherapy, antibiotics, and blood products as well as management of side effects related to treatment in an interdisciplinary approach.
  • Comfortable performing assessment specific to patient disease, treatments being administered, and the side effects of such.

The Coding Analyst possesses a solid understanding of CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS Coding and CMS rules and regulations.

  • The Coding Analyst audits and reviews medical documentation for appropriate coding and documentation for the purpose of reimbursement, training, education, and compliance.
  • Gives feedback to the HIM and Patient Registration Manager, and gives suggestions for improvement initiatives.

The Patient Registration Clerk provides administrative support initiating patient encounters.

  • The Clerk is responsible for verifying insurance eligibility, collecting and posting insurance co-payments and patient payments.

Must be Board Certified/Board Eligible in Gastroenterology. Approximately 5 shifts per month, $2,000 per shift. Assists to assure operating suite is adequately prepared for procedure.

  • Monitors PAR level of all surgical instruments and supplies.
  • Cleans and sterilizes all surgical instruments.
  • Participates in departmental staff meetings and performance improvement activities.

* PRN Radiology Technologist

The Tech performs radiographic procedures to assist in a diagnosis of disease and injuries.

  • The Radiologic Technologist works effectively with patients and patients’ families and maintains a cooperative relationship with interdepartmental personnel.

  • Compensation range for this position is $23.00-$28.00

 

*PRN Respiratory Practitioner

The Respiratory Practitioner assists in planning and implementing the overall respiratory care policies, procedures, and services.

  • Performs all basic modalities of respiratory care as prescribed by physicians in accordance with established department/hospital policies and procedures.
  • Applies and manages mechanical ventilators/noninvasive ventilation in collaboration with physicians and recommending adjustments to improve patient comfort.
  • Assembles, disassembles, operates, maintains, troubleshoots, cleans and performs adjustments in the applications of durable medical equipment and circuitry used in the delivery of respiratory/cardio care as prescribed in accordance with established department/hospital policies and procedures.
  • Performs patient assessments and evaluates patient response to care provided, making recommendations to physicians regarding the plan of care, appropriate use for respiratory therapy and modification of therapy as clinical condition changes. Minimum of 5 years technical respiratory experience in an ED/Acute Care environment for patients of all ages
  • Working knowledge of respiratory/hospital operations.
  • Experience of ventilators and ability to work independently.
  • NBRC Certification for RRT or CRT

*PRN Mammography Tech

The Mammography Technologist will support the mission and values of PSMC. Under the direct supervision of the Diagnostic Imaging Manager and the Radiologist, the Mammography Technologist performs Screening and Diagnostic Mammograms to assist in the diagnosis of disease. The Mammography Technologist also performs diagnostic procedures and assists the Radiologist with these procedures. The Mammography Technologist works effectively with patients and patients’ families and maintains a cooperative relationship with interdepartmental personnel. Before performing any exam or procedure, the Mammography Technologist will check orders from providers for appropriateness in accordance with the indication and will contact providers to correct orders as needed. Must also be trained in Bone Density or willing to train.  Must be licensed through ARRT in Mammography and have BLS/CPR. Compensation for this position starts at $26.00 an hour.
