* Full Time Emergency Medicine Physician

Pagosa Springs Medical Center has an opening for a Full-Time Emergency Medicine Physician. Must be Board Certified/Board Eligible in Emergency Medicine or have extensive Emergency Medicine experience. Full-time is generally 10 to 12 shifts per month with an equitable mix of days, nights, weekends and holidays. PSMC will provide professional liability insurance coverage, a relocation stipend of $10,000 payable after relocation and two weeks after starting work, and a CME allowance of $6,000 annually (gross and subject to taxes) for full-time physicians. Compensation is $175 per hour for day shifts and $180 per hour for night shifts. * Full Time Primary Care Physician

Pagosa Springs Medical Center has an opening for a Full-Time Primary Care Physician.  Must be Board Certified/Board Eligible in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine. The position is for all outpatient, non-obstetrical, full-time primary care including women’s care. Full-time physicians work four 10-hour shifts per week (not weekends). PSMC will provide professional liability insurance coverage, a relocation stipend of $10,000 payable after relocation and two weeks after starting work, and a CME allowance of $6,000 annually (gross and subject to taxes) for full-time physicians. Full-time physicians receive 260 hours of paid time off per year. Compensation range for full-time Family Medicine physician:  $190,000 to $235,000. FULL TIME POSITIONS

*Call Receptionist (Remote or Onsite Position)

The Call Receptionist operates clinic telephone switchboards and consoles to connect, hold and transfer telephone calls and provide information to assist callers or refer them to appropriate contacts, either in the organization or elsewhere. The Call Receptionist does daily problem solving for incoming callers by making informed decisions by communicating with the proper depart, as well as checking and confirming patients appoints. The Call Receptionist performs routine, and some non-routine, continuous work involved primarily with the operation of a telephone switchboard and the operation and maintenance of a computerized database of telephone information. Included in the non-routine work, the Call Receptionist retrieves and organizes incoming electronic faxes for appointments, referrals, authorizations and order requests for the following departments: Radiology, Clinic and Providers, Specialty Clinic, Surgery Scheduling, Oncology, Lab and Medical Records. The Call Receptionist reviews the faxes for complete and accurate information that includes: Patient Demographics, Insurance, Prior Authorization, Provider information and Signature, CPT and Diagnosis. Returns the incomplete fax back to the Outside Providers requesting updated information and following up until results are obtained.

*Certified Surgical Technologist

The Surgical Technologist will work directly with the surgeon and the circulating registered nurse.

  • Assists surgeon during gastroenterology endoscopy, operative and invasive procedures with a working knowledge of sterile and aseptic technique.
  • Assures operating suite is adequately prepared and maintained for procedures.
  • Monitors inventory of surgical instruments and supplies.
  • Cleans, reprocesses and sterilizes surgical instruments.

*Coding Analyst & Pre-Certification Specialist (Remote or Onsite Position)

The Coding Analyst possesses a solid understanding of CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS Coding and CMS rules and regulations. The Coding Analyst audits and reviews medical documentation for appropriate coding and documentation for the purpose of reimbursement, training, education, and compliance. Gives feedback to the HIM and Patient Registration Manager, and gives suggestions for improvement initiatives. Responsible for obtaining authorizations for ordered services, timely and accurately, to ensure reimbursement for outpatient and inpatient services. The specialist is responsible for providing complete documentation of clinical information to payers in support of healthcare services to be authorized.

  • Education Requirements: High school graduate or equivalent required. Advanced level courses and/or AHIMA or AAPC certification preferred or three (3) years or more of equivalent experience. Courses in medical/clinical terminology and computer.
  • Job Requirements: 3+ years’ experience in coding with primary focus in facility outpatient and inpatient and pro fee coding. Experience with a Critical Access Hospital and Rural Health Clinic preferred.

*Director of Nursing

Pagosa Springs Medical Center has an opening for a full time Director of Nursing. The Director of Nursing reports directly to the COO and is responsible for the overall direction of the Emergency Department, Inpatient Unit, Quality, Respiratory and Speech Therapy, Hospital Social Worker and the Trauma Program for Pagosa Springs Medical Center. *Echocardiography Technologist

Pagosa Springs Medical Center has an opening for a full time Echocardiography Technologist (Echo Tech). The Echo Tech will support the mission and values of PSMC. The Echo Tech works independently performing professional level assessments and a variety of noninvasive studies using ultrasound and related diagnostic technology as appropriate and records the results and clinical preliminary impressions as indicated. The results of these test are used to direct the course of patient care. The Echo Tech encounters difficult problems related to examinations and must resolve them with limited supervision. There is daily contact with professionals and families. This position is a full performance Echocardiography Technologist with advanced knowledge of cardiac anatomy, physiology and disease. All examinations are performed within standard protocols and in a variety of settings (outpatient, emergency department and inpatient unit) using portable equipment. The sonographer performs transthoracic echocardiograms, treadmill exercise stress echocardiograms, Holter/ Event monitor setup and reporting, and assists with ECG stress testing.

  • Education/Experience Requirements: May have completed course in ultrasound/echocardiography technology, and may have additional registration as Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (ARDMS). Sonographer must maintain Continuing Medical Education as required by registry.

*Emergency Department Registration Lead

The ED Registration Lead oversees the daily operations of specific work units within the ED Registration Department. The lead partners closely with the Patient Registration Supervisor and the Patient Access/HIM Manager to provide leadership coverage and presence to the ED Registration area. This individual is responsible for ensuring the effective operations through organizing, scheduling, and monitoring department workload. In addition, this individual will monitor work quality and productivity metrics and coordinate training as needed. The Lead will serve as the first line of escalation for staff questions on workflows and processes. The incumbent is responsible for training new staff, assisting in the planning and development of training materials, assisting in the development and implementation of quality assurance processes and serving as a go-to resource to staff. This individual will be responsible for ensuring the effective operations of the day to day activities of ED Registration. This person will identify areas for improvements and develop plans for improving the quality of these processes. This position is customer service driven and the incumbent must have the ability to effectively promote positive customer service while working in a highly stressful and complex environment. The Lead is able to quickly assess an urgent situation and provide issue resolution and de-escalation.

*Infusion RN Supervisor

The Infusion RN Supervisor works under the supervision of the Director of Oncology and Pharmacy and assures provision of care to infusion patients by utilizing the nursing process and principles of continuous quality improvement in collaboration with members of the healthcare team. Performs various duties to ensure that quality and regulatory requirements of the department are consistently achieved and assists the Director of Oncology and Pharmacy in meeting the needs of staff and patients. Infusion RN Supervisor is responsible for outpatient infusions services including chemotherapy. Must be proficient in IV insertions for adults, PICC line and Port-a-Cath management, Phlebotomy, blood transfusions, performing nursing H&P/assessment, communication with ordering physicians and staff, etc. Serves as a liaison between staff and Director of Oncology to ensure employee and patient needs are met. Must possess a high degree of self-motivation and directional initiative with ability to function successfully independently.

*Mammography Technologist

The Mammography Technologist will support the mission and values of PSMC.

  • Under the direct supervision of the Diagnostic Imaging Manager and the Radiologist, the Mammography Technologist performs Screening and Diagnostic Mammograms to assist in the diagnosis of disease.
  • The Mammography Technologist also performs diagnostic procedures and assists the Radiologist with these procedures.

The CNA assists in the administration of care to patients in a safe, efficient, and courteous manner.  Follows proper procedures in accordance with hospital policies and procedures.  Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served.  Possesses the ability to assess/collect data reflective of the patient’s status needed to identify each patient’s requirements relative to his/her age-specific needs.  Compensation range for this position: $13.00 – $15.00.
