PSMC’s experienced care team provides patients with a personalized, coordinated health plan that includes the oncologist, hematologist, nurse practitioner, on-site pharmacist, physical therapist, and general surgeon. PSMC’s care team provides patients with access to advanced technologies, groundbreaking oncological and hematological treatments, as well as compassionate medical care. We are here for our patients each step of their journey.
Oncology is a branch of medicine that specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of cancer. Hematology is a subspecialty of medicine that focuses on the care of patients with disorders of the blood, bone marrow and lymphatic system. Some examples of these are anemia, leukemia lymphoma, and blood clots. Some are malignant and treated as cancer; others are benign or not cancer. As unique as each cancer or blood disorder is, so are the challenges the diagnosis carries with it. Without access to quality cancer care, there can be a greater burden placed on those that choose to live in rural areas.
Understanding this, PSMC delivers experienced high-quality cancer care with individualized treatment plans tailored to each patient. PSMC’s care team takes the time to understand each unique diagnosis and each individual’s needs. PSMC’s cancer care team works together to develop an integrated treatment plan specific to each patient. There is not a single way to beat cancer or blood disorders, there are many. PSMC will assess all options available to achieve the best outcomes for our patients.
While PSMC offers the latest treatments and a level of experience not often available in rural areas, PSMC’s Cancer Center Team coordinates care with larger institutions as needed or as appropriate to best address patient needs.
